Removing Unwanted Items: Before and After
Double Exposure:
This is a double exposure created with a studio portrait of a classmate and the brush behind North Elementary. I used the texture of the trees to give my classmate a new hairstyle. So to create this image I made the background from North Elementary a lot darker and faded the human subject to make him almost translucent. Aspects of his face can still be seen but the texture of the tall grass behind it show through. The line up of the hair with the trees really makes the viewer consider man's relationship with nature. With the unnatural stripes of the jacket the manmade world shines through. But, the natural world ultimately dominates, the textures of nature showing through the jacket, the subject's skin and his hair. With a double exposure does nature dominate manmade society or is it the other way around?
